A Problem That’s Often Overlooked.
Meaning obscured through translation.
I recently released an Italian edition of my best selling book: My Life is My Responsibility with the impressive sounding title: La Mia Vita è La Mia Responsabilità.
A little while back, I wrote about my experience translating the text from English to Italian.
Translation is a process of converting words written or spoken in one language into another. As I explain in that article, translating is a complex process requiring an understanding of both languages and the use of words in context.
Most of us read a translated text assuming the translator has given us a faithful rendition of the original text, although, as we’re about to consider, that may not necessarily be the case.
